WHO WE ARE

We are Emerging Businesses.  We are a family of Minority and Woman owned businesses comprised of integrity, skill, proficiency and partnership, seeking to elevate our businesses to the next level of success.  Our Association is committed to excellent service, thereby transforming the term “Disadvantaged” to “Advantageous”.

Our objectives are to encourage businesses to joint-venture, expand the spectrum of bidding activities and assist in the professional development of our members.

Michigan Emerging Business Association is a Non-profit Trade Association, funded by membership dues and private donations, organized in April 2007 to address the needs and concerns of minority contractors seeking business opportunities. 

Our membership is open to firms (or members of firms) that are owned by individuals of all races and ethnic backgrounds Certified as a DBE by MDOT (Michigan Department of Transportation).  If the company is not currently Certified by MDOT as a DBE but eligible to do so, our Association will help them obtain certification and join the family as a full member of this organization.  Firms, members of firms, non-DBE firms, companies or individuals who may benefit from involvement with our Association are also welcome in becoming (non-voting) Associate members.

As a Certified MBE, WBE, and DBE business through the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), businesses have unique ability to competitively target and procure private, local, state, and federal road, highway, bridge and Airport Authority contracts:  individually but more importantly – collaboratively.    

The Michigan Emerging Business Association will:  initiate actions on behalf of our members, provide practical information with proven techniques, assist members in efforts to foster favorable relationships, and build competitive intelligence to advance to the bidding of larger contracts.
